Tutorial: Smokey Olive and Gold Look

Hi guys,

This is the long awaited new tutorial that has been a long time coming. Sorry it has been so long since I have been able to upload one but I haven't been feeling up to doing much lately because the winter chill has really gotten to me. Anyway, enough excuses and on to the look!

This is a really simple gold and olive-green smokey look that would be perfect for any time of the day/night. It is created using a limited edition product (Techtonic mineralize eye shadow from the Flashtronic Collection ['07]) but this colour can easily be duped with any other olive gold eye shadow.

EYES:
- Indianwood paint pot
- Gorgeous Gold eye shadow
- Techtonic mineralise eye shadow
- Inglot #731 (matte olive) eye shadow
- Humid eye shadow
- Vanilla eye shadow
- Nylon eye shadow
- Blacktrack fluidline
- Smolder eyeliner
- Ardell "117" lashes

CHEEKS:
- Inglot #34 (peach with gold shimmer) blush

LIPS:
- Hug Me lipstick
- Inglot #545 (orange with multicolour reflects) lipsgloss

I hope you enjoyed this look, please let me know if you try it out :)

Shopping My Eye Shadow Stash Tutorial #1: Lancome Color Design Quad in Enchanted Evening

So I decided to kick off my "Shopping my Stash" series of tutorials with my Gold Palette, featuring some great shadows, but in this case I used the Lancome Color Design Quad in Enchanted Evening (the four top shadows shown below)
Is this a picture tutorial?
Yes

1.

Using a flat eye shadow brush, or in my case a sponge tip applicator, take the pale pink color from the quad. Put that color in the corner of your eye and around your tear duct, feathering the color onto your lid.

2.

Flip your flat shadow brush, or sponge tip applicator, over and take the pale gold color. Use patting motions to pack color all over the lid, stopping at the crease.

3.

Take a crease brush and dip it into milk chocolate brown color and put the color in your outer v and work it into your crease, sweeping from outward to inward so as you get closer to the inner part of your eye the color is light.

4.

This part can be skipped if you're wearing this look during the day, or just don't want a darker look. Personally I wanted a darker look, so take another crease brush, or the same one as before, and dip it into a darker brown color, I used Darkhorse from the UD Naked Palette. Use the darker color to deepen your outer v and crease, only going 1/3 of the way into your crease.

5.

Take a fluffy brush and dip into the lightest beige/ skin colored color. Use that as your highlight, so place it underneath your brows, I also brought it down to the corner of my eye/side of my nose because I have a shadow there.

6.

Using the same fluffy brush, BLEND!

7.

Using a flat eyeliner brush take the milk chocolate brown shade from the quad and put it on your lower lash line, going only 3/4 of the way in.

8.

Curl your lashes.

9.

Put on mascara. I'm using Maybelline Pulse Perfection Waterproof Mascara.

Next just put on the rest of your face and take pictures! :)

Hope you enjoyed the look.

Natural Neutrals Look

Really simple look (at least compared to more smokey looks I tend to gravitate towards!) I used mainly matte eyeshadows and wanted to focus on really glowy pink cheeks!

Eek! Sorry liner is a bit uneven! Mac brule on lid, Mac wedge in crease and outer v, Nars Galapagos in outer-v, Mac shroom to highlight

Products Used:
Face:
Tarte Smooth Operator in Agent 14 (had to use a darker tinted moisturizer I had since I'm more tan now! I miss my Laura Mercier though, I like the coverage better.)
Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage
Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder
Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Amused
Mac Refined Golden Bronzer
TheBalm Mary-Lou Manizer
Anastasia Brow Powder in brunette

Eyes:
Laura Mercier Eye Basics in Wheat
Mac Brule, Wedge, Shroom
Nars Galapagos
Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner in chocolate shimmer ink
Covergirl Lashblast

Lips:
Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Blush

Simple, but I hope you like it! Maybe I should have added a bright lip? Oh well, next time! :)

Marchesa Resort 2012

No words can explain my massive crush on the Marchesa Resort 2012 collection. The color pallet is perfection and the styles of the dresses are to die for. I'm obsessing over the mint green and leopard pieces and I adore how the fushia dresses pop next to the classically stunning white pieces. Perhaps I'm partial because I've been gushing over Marchesa's unbelievable bridal designs for months now, but I'm going to go ahead and say that this resort line is without question one of my favorites thus far. Marchesa captured the vibe superbly and created dresses that I think every girl will be dreaming about. From the flirty full skirted dresses to the stunning mix of neck lines, this collection is all kinds of fabulous. To view the complete line visit Style.com. Which look is your favorite?
